Top Ten Reasons Students Should Read More Whole Books and Fewer Passages and Packets by Cari White
This seems like a list that should be written by Captain Obvious, right? Of course students should read whole books from beginning to end! But does that really happen at your school? Or does the workroom copier groan under the load of stapled packets with “passages” and related multiple-choice questions? Are students unable to find their library books because they haven’t seen them in so long?
Students deserve time during the school day to read books, one page after another, journeying with the author through every scene to the end of the book. Why?
- Empathy. Students need time to walk in another person’s shoes, a fictional character who is different from them. La inteligencia artificial hace accesible el teatro a personas con discapacidad
Una tecnologia que emplea inteligencia artificial hace posible que las personas con discapacidad auditiva y visual puedan disfrutar en el teatro de los espectáculos musicales.

El sistema Stage-sync, desarrollado por investigadores de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, incluye un software que permite ver los subtítulos adaptados y a un intérprete de lengua de signos mediante realidad aumentada. Las personas ciegas también pueden escuchar la audiodescripción de forma individual.
Una nueva tecnología del grupo de investigación SoftLab de la UC3M se ha empleado para hacer accesible la comedia musical de Broadway La Familia Addams en el Teatro Calderón de Madrid. Se trata de un proyecto en el que han colaborado la agencia creativa C&W, COMUNICAdos y Escena Global, y que ha contado con el apoyo de la Consejería de Educación e Innovación de la Comunidad de Madrid.
